The first edition of the TBU Leadership and Innovation Summer School has been successfully concluded

The first edition of the TBU Leadership and Innovation Summer School was successfully concluded with the participation of dozens of high school students from different high schools in Albania.

During two intense weeks and full of interactive activities, the participants had the opportunity to attend a series of trainings specially dedicated to them, in various fields such as digital marketing, innovation, leadership, web design, AI, Programming, emotional intelligence where guests were representatives of TBU partner companies, academics and experts from the business world.

The participants were trained on the following topics and by the following trainers:

• “Leadership” by Mr. Evarist Beqiri, author of the book “Leadership of Ismail Qemali”
• “IT Innovation” by representatives of BALFIN Group, Mr. Juljan Palluqi, Business Operations Manager and Mr. Marlind Maksuti, Software Developer Team Leader
• “Programming/Web Design/AI Training by PhD(c). Endri Plasari and Dr. Erdet Këlliçi, lecturers at TBU.
• “Principles of Digital Marketing in Business” by a representative of Balfin Real Estate, Mr. Ivan Dahin, Digital Marketing Team Leader and Mrs. Ira Mestani, Digital Marketing Specialist.
• “Micro Business Game” by PhD(c). Samel Kruja and MSc. Irma Shkrepa, lecturer at TBU.
• “Emotional Intelligence” by TBU Administrator, Dr. Altin Sholla.

In addition, the young people had the opportunity to hold meetings with senior executives of BALFIN group companies, to get to know more closely the leadership role, the challenges faced by the business and daily management operations.

The participants met with the Executive Director of Spar Albania, Mrs. Elona Hametaj, who shared with high school students her experience and challenges in leading one of the largest supermarket chains in Albania.

They also held a meeting with the Executive Director of JUMBO, Mr. Almarin Liço, who offered the students a clear insight into the dynamics of management and innovation in one of the most popular companies in the retail sector.

For the last day of LISS, the participants visited the premises of the largest shopping center in Albania, Tirana East Gate, to watch a modern film in the cinema Cineplexx Albania. The participants spent a very fun day at the cinema, which also served to get to know each other better, but also to reflect on the two weeks of Summer School activities.

For this first edition, the TBU Summer School fulfilled its purpose by fostering leadership skills and promoting innovation among young people.
