The new academic year begins, rector Kume: Let’s bring change!
On October 7th, Tirana Business University opened its doors to hundreds of new and returning students in the bachelor’s cycle, welcoming them to the Faculty of Business, Law, and Information Technology. This new beginning marked an important step for students aiming to build their careers in key fields such as business, law, and technology, while benefiting from the expertise and leadership of TBU’s academic and professional staff.
The ceremony began with an introductory and orientation meeting, where students were introduced to the structure and philosophy of TBU by the deans of the faculties and the respective academic staff. During this meeting, they had the opportunity to get familiar with the study programs, activities, and the support that the university provides for their academic and professional development.
A significant moment of the ceremony was the warm welcome given by TBU Rector, Prof. Dr. Vasilika Kume, who emphasized the importance of dedication and student engagement in achieving academic and personal success during their years of study. She noted that TBU not only aims to provide quality education but also serves as a strong platform for the professional development of students in their respective fields. “Let’s work with dedication, honesty and desire to bring change in this academic year,” she said.
Another special address was given by Dr. Altin Sholla, TBU’s Administrator, who emphasized that the university is committed to helping students become successful leaders and renowned professionals in the national and international labor market. He assured students that TBU would support them with resources and numerous opportunities to develop the skills and expertise necessary for the global job market.
Additionally, Mr. Andi Muhametaj, Project Manager at BALFIN Group, one of the largest investment groups in the region, was also part of this meeting. He spoke about the strong partnership that BALFIN has established with TBU. He highlighted that this collaboration offers students extensive opportunities for scholarships and professional internships in the group’s companies, creating a direct connection between education and industry.
Another speaker at the ceremony was Ms. Ida Hoxha, Director of Human Resources at ACREM, the company that manages two of the largest shopping centers in Albania, TEG and QTU. She shared her professional experience and emphasized the continuous support that ACREM offers to TBU, not only through scholarships for excellent students but also by creating employment opportunities for TBU students during or immediately after their studies.
A particularly inspiring moment for the students was the presentation by Ms. Julja Husha, a master’s student at TBU and recently employed at ACREM. She shared her journey, describing how her studies at TBU and her professional experience have prepared her for the challenges of the job market. Her experience is a testament to the power of combining quality education with the professional opportunities that TBU provides for its students.
The university representatives and guests thanked the students for choosing TBU to continue their academic journey. They committed to supporting students every step of the way and encouraged them to take full advantage of all the opportunities the university offers—from theoretical and practical lessons to networking opportunities with the job market.
With this spirit, Tirana Business University wishes all its students a successful academic year filled with achievements and unforgettable experiences!
